Back in the cave, armed with the flickering light of their torches, they were astonished to see that the cave has changed, the rough textures that they've felt in the darkness were gone. It was all marble-like, like it was intentionally made that way. They started to walk and it took them a long time before they reached an opening going out of the cave. They held their breath then stepped outside of the cave...

and found themselves in another realm. "cave must be a portal of some kind." said the commander. And he sent small groups of men to scope out the teritory. The rest of the men he set to work making camp and scouring the immediate area for wood and food. Suddenly a scout came running back......

...and screaming, "There is a big dragon in the forest!". Everyone stopped and looked at each other, one of the men spoke two words, "Show me!". Armed with their courage, they silently went looking for the dragon in the forest. Finally, at the edge of the forest near a waterfall, there lay before their eyes the enormous dragon sleeping under the hot summer sun. It appears to be in a deep sleep, so in their most quiet movement they started looking around the area, when one of them stumbled upon a cave behind the waterfall...

the cave of course, was filled with loot. Such wonderous treasures were never before seen by men. Jewelry, armor, weapons made of hardened gold and encrusted with gems of all colors. Quicky and quietly they each selected better armor and weapons. The leader found a sword that said Magic Dragon Cutter on it. "wonder what kind of magic that dragon has?" he wispered. The men were suddenly suspicious of the new weapons... dare they trust them in a battle with the dragon?.....

...a lot has happened to them since they have entered the cave...now lies before their eyes a new adventure for them to unravel. The dragon lays asleep while they ponder what to do. After a few moments of arguing and agreeing, they finally came up with the conclusion that they must slay the dragon and face whatever the outcome of this decision will be...

Silently the men surround the dragon. All eyes waiting for the nod to attack. Each man with a specific vital area to hit. They wait breathlessly and all suddenly realize at the same time the dragon is not breathing. Is he really dead? they wonder.
The leader nods and swords drive deep. The men jump back and gasp. There was no dragon. Just the shell of one like and insect who sheds his outside layer. Quickly the men spin around to look........

The spiders that they are about to encounter are by far no ordinary spiders. They are at least eight feet high and seven feet long, the leader smirked as he looked at one of the spiders crawling along the cave walls. His heart started beating faster and faster as he slowly gazes at the spider's six big round eyes! All his men can see the fear building up in him, they quietly pulled him away from the line of sight of the enormous spider...he was very pale and his fingers very cold. He told to himself, "I can't let this monster win!"

Several others soldiers were quicky pulled from the mesmerizing spider gaze. They quickly retreated from the spider lair. What a trap! Only the quick thinking of the men who pulled the leader and others away and out of the cave has saved our little men.....

So there they were, back out of the cave. Indeed, in all of the excitement, they'd managed to escape that dank cave and the spiders lair. They were winded and breathless from their hasety retreat but that didn't stop them from celebrating. They had made it out alive! The leader gave orders for them to rest and re-energize. Afterall, there was still a dragon lurking in the shadows that needed slaying. He wouldn't remind them of it just yet. However, there was one thing he knew and he knew it for sure... after all their travels through that cave that got them nowhere, they would not be returning anytime soon! He made a promise that they were out of that cave for good.

Looking back at the cave, the leader felt a glaring stare while he and his men merrily walked out of the dark treacherous cave. Amidst his doubts he walked with his men towards the bright future. In their moment of joy, glaring eyes followed their footsteps.
